Yeondeunghoe is a festival where anyone can participate voluntarily and everyone comes together to share happiness.
We are recruiting Lotus Lantern Festival Friends to serve as Global Cultural Ambassadors for this international festival,
which is celebrated by over 300,000 people every year!

Recruitment for Yeondeunghoe Volunteers
🌸 Qualifications
- Foreigners and Koreans in their 20s and 30s who are enthusiastic about
- experiencing and participating in K-traditional culture,
- registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
🌸 Number of Volunteers Needed
- 50 people (40 international expats / 10 Koreans)
🌸 Application Period
- March 04 (Tue) – March 12 (Wed), 2025
Registration may close early if we receive an overwhelming number of applications.

while experiencing this historic festival. - Participate in an international celebration that transcends religions and nationalities,
uniting everyone as one.
2. Laugh & Have Fun!
- Join the exciting flash mob as LLF Friends during the welcoming parade.
- Enjoy the spectacular lantern parade from reserved seats.
- Explore 100+ cultural experience booths—eat, see,
and immerse yourself in Korean traditions.
3. Friendship!
- Make new friends at the Lotus Lantern Festival, an event filled
with joy and positive energy. - Participate in meaningful volunteer work and build friendships
with both Korean and international participants.
4. Activity!
- Promote the festival by uploading photos and experiences on SNS.
🌸 Lantern Festival Program Schedule
1.Opening Ceremony
- Date & Time: 3.21 (Fri) 6-8 PM
- Description: Introduction to the festival and activities, social time
2.Temple Stay
- Date & Time: 3.29 (Sat) – 3.30 (Sun)
- Description: Temple stay (2 days 1 night), Learning traditional lantern-making and Dance practice
3. Lantern Lighting Ceremony
- Date & Time: 4.2 (Wed) 5-8 PM
- Description: Participation in the lighting ceremony, Flash mob prior to ceremony
4. Pre-Education 1
- Date & Time: 4.5 (Sat) 10 AM – 1 PM
- Description: Participation of Hoginori, Booth operation: photo zone, lotus flower making lesson
5. Pre-Education 2
- Date & Time: 4.12 (Sat) 2-4 PM
- Description: Festival promotion training, schedule briefing, and rehearsal
6. Pre-Education 3
- Date & Time: 4.15 (Tue) 4-7 PM
- Description: Participation of Lantern exhibition, Booth operation: Same as Hoginoria
7. Pre-Education 4
- Date & Time: 4.19 (Sat) 2-4 PM
- Description: Explanation about LLF schedules and safety, explanation, and rehearsal
8. Lantern Festival Day 1
- Date & Time: 4.26 (Sat)
- Description: Lantern Parade day, Flash mob at Jongno street, watching lantern parade and enjoy at Yeondeungnori stage
9. Lantern Festival Day 2
- Date & Time: 4.27 (Sun)
- Description: Festival event day (traditional cultural events, Yeondeungnori stage)
10. Dharma Ceremony / Closing Ceremony
- Date & Time: 5.5 (Mon) 9 AM – 12 PM
- Description: Participation of Buddha’s Birthday ceremony, Farewell Ceremony
